Here Comes The Rain Again!

Image
R ains! I love the rainy season! I always look forward to the day when those thick gray clouds take over from the scorching sun and give the effect of night ( more like late evening perhaps ) in the middle of the day. After all the teasing with thunder and lightning when these bearers of relief finally decide to take pity on the mortals below, the feeling is something else; the petrichor, the sound of rains drops finally making it to the earth, all of us taking a collective sigh of relief and a lot of us spreading our hands out of the window to feel the rain drops fall. That cold droplet of water hitting your hand somehow makes you feel that time will change and get better in the coming days.  This is that time of the year when all of a sudden everyone gets a craving for pakodas and hot tea. I doubt there is a better feeling than to sit at home, tea in one hand with a plate of pakodas in front of you and watch the rain cool everything down.

Love is a waste of time...?

Or is it? Maybe… I know I am not the most qualified person for this topic but hey, it’s my blog. I have seen people ‘falling in love’ during their school days. And I am talking about the serious commitment, many a times in college too. But I guess college romance is a little more understandable. As for me, I don’t get it. You don’t have any kind of clarity on where are you going to end up and here you are ready to commit yourself to a person for all your life. You can’t commit yourself to studies but yes a romantic commitment is totally fine.

All Hail the Underdog!

Un-der-dog (n.) Person or a group popularly expected to lose. W hat is it about this word that all of us are ready to rally behind the unfancied. Someone who has no chance is the one many ( usually the neutrals, with nothing to lose or gain ) want to win, to bask in glory even when all odds are against them and all experts have written them off. Still from 2007 movie 'Underdog'

India Roast(ed)!!??

Image
I n December, the comedy group All India Bakchod, henceforth referred to as AIB here, brought a new form of comedy to India, Roasting. They did a show somewhere in a Mumbai stadium with 4000 people attending the first of its kind show in India with profits going to charity. They decided to roast actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. I know I am a little late but I would like to share my views on it too.
