Arbitrary Notions

Or is it? Maybe… I know I am not the most qualified person for this topic but hey, it’s my blog. I have seen people ‘falling in love’ during their school days. And I am talking about the serious commitment, many a times in college too. But I guess college romance is a little more understandable. As for me, I don’t get it. You don’t have any kind of clarity on where are you going to end up and here you are ready to commit yourself to a person for all your life. You can’t commit yourself to studies but yes a romantic commitment is totally fine.

Un-der-dog (n.) Person or a group popularly expected to lose. W hat is it about this word that all of us are ready to rally behind the unfancied. Someone who has no chance is the one many ( usually the neutrals, with nothing to lose or gain ) want to win, to bask in glory even when all odds are against them and all experts have written them off. W e all need appreciation time and again. We are constantly fishing for words like ‘well done’, ‘good job’ ‘keep it up’. We are living on this god’s earth longing to be appreciated. Whether it is doing something for the public, doing something for our friend( s ), showcasing our talent ( or even writing a blog ), everything that is done is done to get the approval of others. It somehow makes us feel good about ourselves. Earlier it used to be just a figure of speech, to be liked for doing this and that but with social media taking over our lives it has become an actual thing.

F irst off, this is not going to be a political blog; this post is but not the blog. This is just me trying out my hand at writing something and utilizing my time better. I chose to write my first post on elections cause this is the thing that is on everybody's mind right now. And with elections barely a month away, what better topic to start my blog with.
